Here Goes!

Well, my hair is gone and I’m ready to go!  I’ll be in Portsmouth, NH tomorrow.  From here on in I’ll post updates to the blog through the trusty PFP Media Team, and I’ll check in myself whenever I have internet access.  Peace!

Just talked to Peace toward the end of day 1 in New Hampshire. She was stretching a stiff knee. Someone tossed her an energy bar from a car, which is nice encouragement and a good sign that food is out there. She’ll be connecting with someone to walk with for the next few days. I asked her how we can support her – she said the #1 thing is finding places for her to stay along the route. As I told her to be safe, I also realized that the fact that I have to say that is the reason she needs to do this walk.

Walking for Peace

Starting June 1st, I’ll be walking at least 1,000 miles for peace. I will walk until given shelter and fast until given food. The way I understand the word, “peace” means internal peace, interpersonal peace, and peace on a national and international level. To get a little more specific, it also means that a young woman should be able to take a walk alone without fearing for her safety. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case right now. I’d like to help improve that situation.
